Trends of Paris Fashion Week Men's 2022:
Some of the most common themes that we could see in this year's fashion week are that "wearable art" showcases the mixture of modern artistic views and their influences on our clothes.
A noticeable trend that is followed even by the commoners is the baggy-clothes trend. You can find millennials wearing baggy on baggy, in the sense they choose a baggy top to go with a wide bottom. This is much different from what we were used to in the previous years, as we often paired a baggy item, either a top or bottom, with a tight-fitted item.
Another trend to note is layering. Designers are creating different pieces that can be layered on top of each other to create a complex and artistically elevated look. From those days when we only accessories our clothes with jewellery, people now are using other clothing articles to accessorise the whole look. This could be through layering different tops, bottoms, jewellery, etc.
No more clashing colours, only monochrome! Designers have chosen monochromatic models to create simple yet complex clothing. The art of wearing monochromatic colours is not easy to pull off. You need to understand the depth of each colour and layer it perfectly on top of each other.
Some famous luxury brands such as Hermes have used supple leather and cashmere to complement the clothing. This creates the epitome of luxury and a revival of dandyism. The intertwining of femininity with masculinity with the designer bags captures the fluidity of the clothing and breaks the rules.
However, some designers like Kanye West took a similar route, chose the minimalist way, and used the concept of “less is more”.
Some good fits for this year would be a tailored suit, bold accessories like snakeskin or floral patterns, a statement piece, etc.
