Seoul Fashion Week 2021: What to Expect This October?

Seoul Fashion Week is conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and this year it will be conducted between October 7, 2021, and October 15, 2021. This event was first conducted in 1987, and over the years, as Korean street fashion gained popularity across the globe, this event has become more popular.

This fashion week happens twice a year, and the last event happened between March 22, 2021, to March 27, 2021. The Spring/Summer Collections were displayed virtually due to the global pandemic.

Seoul Fashion Week is organized by Seoul Design Foundation. The event has been playing a crucial role in promoting Korean fashion and showcasing it before the global audience. New York, Paris, London, and Milan Fashion Weeks are the four trendsetters in the world of Haute Couture. SFW follows closely behind.

The Designers Participating in Seoul Fashion Week October 2021

The venue of Seoul Fashion Week has not been disclosed as of now by the organizers. Due to the travel restrictions in many countries, the footfall will be lesser this year. The following brands are expected to participate this year.

1. Painters- This is a new name in the Korean fashion arena. Their merchandise is specifically targeted at artists or art connoisseurs. In fact, they have two separate clothing lines. The collection line is meant for the consumers of high fashion, and the commercial line is for regular citizens who invest in daily wear.

Painter's target customers are women in their early to mid-twenties. The quirky brand pitches ‘Different Accepted Society’ as their slogan, and their creations clearly depict their vision.

Diversity is the key mantra of their designing pattern, and they come up with their unique ideas each season.

2. Holy Number 7- Designers Song Hyeon-hee and Choi Kyung-ho design chic and uber-cool jackets, t-shirts, dresses, skirts and hats. Their designs are contemporary and in sync with the street fashion for the young generation.

3. Saint Mill- This is a big name in the Seoul Fashion arena. Designer Myoung Yoo Suk is a young talented designer who loves to blend fashion into daily life. The sweaters, trousers, and t-shirts designed by him are extremely popular not only in Seoul and but also in the global market. 4. Rui/Leyii- Seunghee Lee has been doing a great job in dressing women for a while now. She designs clothes for the regular office-going women, including skirts, formal trousers, and scarves to drape around their neck. Fashion Shows

Korean fashion designers have been trying to establish themselves on the world map for a while, and with emerging global interest in Korean culture, it seems like the time is here. 120 brands will participate in this event and there will be one-on-one meetings between the local and the foreign buyers. 135 buyers from the AJJC region like China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Dubai will be a part of this Seoul Fashion Week.

The organizers are set to make every possible effort to launch the promising designers to the global market.
